Although this is a Specialty Hat, it’s basic structure is what we call a Sports Cap. Throughout history this shape of hat has been known by many names, including Greek Fisherman’s Hat, People’s Cap, Bicyclist’s Hat, Train Conductors Hat, Military Hat, and Newsboy Cap. The outer material of this hat is a flannel weight, Native Print Pendleton Wool. The lower band is a black, thin wale cotton corduroy. The starting size is 24 1/4”. Although the hat can adjust smaller, we recommend a hat that fits your exact size. What makes this a Specialty Hat is the initial price of the fabric, the brim’s stitching, and the alignment of the patterns. If you look closely at the hat pictures, you will notice that the fabric patterns from the brim, to the band, to the top of the hat, all align- this is no small feat. Additionally, notice that the stitching on the brim matches the pattern of the fabric. We call this jacquard fabric pattern Grey Harding’s Micro Pattern, it is red, burgundy, yellow, orange, hunter green, and cream white colors in the pattern with a background of camel brown.
