Summer Leaf Corps, size-23-5/8"

SOLD OUT

This is an original style of hat designed by my father. With its pointed bill it is reminiscent of Robin Hood, the elves, or fairies and fantasy. Although it’s overall functionality and shape has a streamline effect, in tradition it is akin to a Full Brim Sun Hat. There is both a summer and winter version, and both are made to be highly-dynamic outdoor activity hats. This is the Summer Leaf Corps and its make of pure linen and cotton fabrics. The exact size of this hat is 23”. The stitching on the bill has a varied and pleasing effect on both sides. It is done using my father’s original technique of free-hand machine embroidery. The tail on the top of the hat allows you to attach feathers or beads if you like. The cotton highlight fabric can tie under your neck or tighten the hat when tied behind along the shape of the band. The top is single layer panels of linen with triple stitched seams, making it very light weight and strong. The flaps in the back protect your neck from the sun, but the front brim wraps around the hat so far that it partially lifts the flaps, so they don’t ride on the back of your neck. Being fully washable, this hat could be dunked in cold water and throw on your head on a hot day.
